Diapers and Wipes Needed to Support Local Children
The Outreach Committee is supporting the Red Wagon Ministry during March with a disposable diaper drive. The Red Wagon Ministry – a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, faith-based organization – helps meet the needs of low-income families with babies and toddlers. One of its many objectives is to provide disposable diapers and wipes to qualifying families in the Winchester area and Clarke County. The goal is to provide diapers to decrease the incidents of neglect resulting from a child remaining in a soiled or reused disposable diaper. Last year, the Red Wagon Ministry donated 83,000 diapers to CCAP (Congregational Community Action Project) in Winchester to help meet local needs. Many of its donations come from churches such as ours. Please consider picking up a box of diapers when you’re shopping. All sizes will be collected, in any quantity. Sizes 4 and 5 are always needed. In addition to diapers, disposable wipes are being collected. Our drive will run through the month of March. The wagon will be set up in the Narthex. Please share and be generous as we do the Lord’s work.
